"Yellow Jacket Strut" was commissioned by the Iowa High School Jazz Band from Iowa, Louisiana (William Ishee, Jr. – Director) in the spring of 2022. The title is derived from the school’s mascot, the Yellow Jackets, and there are a few sections of the music that match the “stinging” nature of a yellow jacket. This is a standard funk chart that is perfectly suited for your high school jazz band, with plenty of opportunities to feature soloists and stretch the technical capabilities of your young musicians.Available as a 9x12 set with score and parts, or a score alone.
